Instructions
  1. Slice the apples four times around the core and put all apple pieces in the liner of the cooker. Leave the peels on as it adds fiber and texture to the butter. Add all other ingredients. Seal on your lid, set the toggle to sealing and manual/pressure cook for 5 minutes. Allow a 20 minute natural pressure release. Turn off pot.
  2. Using an immersion blender, blend the apples to desired consistency. Set the cooker on slow cooker -low and let it cook for 4-8 hours stirring occasionally – OR – set cooker on sautee low and cook for 30-60 minutes, stirring often. Use a splatter shield if you have one, or place a large piece of foil loosely over the pot to prevent splatters. Cook to desired color and taste, adjust seasonings.
  3. Using a funnel, put apple butter into jars with lids. At this point, either refrigerate until use or can using a hot water bath method. Will keep up to 2 months in fridge or a year if canned correctly.
